N5VLZ:

GE All, and welcome to the Sep 29 2025 PCL Net.
No early checkins. Net order is Daryl, Bob,
Charley, Glenn, and whoever else shows up.

I spent much of Sunday preparing and releasing
a square dance publication, then doing stuff
for the Quarter Century Wireless Association.
I'm going to skip the next 2 Arkansas hamfests
due to transportation and finances. I'll work
on the audio transcript for the QCWA Journal
starting Wednesday after I get the new issue.

Weather continues dry, with highs in the mid
80s and lows in the mid 60s, and no rain is
expected for another week. The Arkansas State
Fair should be starting soon, but I have no
plans to attend, due to transportation, cost,
and it's not in the best neighborhood.

I cut my left arm somehow last night, and was
glad I had bandages to put on it. I got my
refund from the house insurance, so I was able
to order some pizza and crazy bread from Little
Caesars, and some Compleats dinners from Amazon
to get a break from tuna salad. I haven't decided
what I'll get for food in October, as I have to
pay the property taxes first. At least my next
disability check will be coming in this week.

I'm going to get setup for a migraine study at
a local area hospital. It'll last a year, but
I'll get good compensation for my time, etc.,
and it was more than a flu shot study. I don't
get migraines every day, but when I do, it's
like someone is hitting my head with a hammer
with every heartbeat.

It looks like the government shuts down this week
(to me, the term "government shutdown" is redundant
(hi hi))....but that'll mean the FCC won't be issuing
new licenses, renewals, or processing upgrades. At
least the CSCE's are good for 365 days. They should
deprive Congress of their pay during a shutdown, and
during recess...that would get them into gear (hi hi).

GE Bob, how was your week??? >>>

NS2B:

GE All!

An uneventful week. Didn't do anything on the radio.
Just kept after the node and nursed a cold!

It rained a couple days, and then cleared up, so mowed
yard today. The yard is greeen again!

I cut myself or bruise myself all the time - and usually
have no idea how I did it!!

Seems lke government shutdowns are becoming the norm.

Nothing else here. BTU Daryl >>>

N5VLZ:

Bob, my lawn guy is due here tomorrow, along with a
pharmacy delivery. So I'll be here all day. We're
normally not into self mutilation...we're just clumsy
and klutzy (hi hi). As for government shutdowns, I
wonder how long this one will last. This is the same
CR that they passed in March, and while the minority
party was for it then, they're not now.

GE Charley, how was your week?? >>>

NT5R:

GE everyone, net going quickly tonite

Back from Arizona and southwest trip via Kansas about
midnight Saturday. Had a blast, fun fun (for the three
of us) being on road

Just about have the fill-in digipeater set up for
Branson club. Not sure we REALLY need one. Pretty
good coverage from digis in place. KPC3+ with
firmware 9.1 really shines for this application.
Much more capability than I have in it right now

Been playing with VARA chat, but so far, not many
replys but can see on web where my 10 watts and
end-fed getting out

Bob, been seeing your 20 meter station on during
day. Would be slick if could do this net connected
via 20 meter RF

One of local hams said he had about 6 inches of
rain last week. My daughter in southern Oklahoma,
Durant area, had some golfball size hail on one end
of their property, quarter mile away not even rain

Daryl, was really sad not get to Mena hamfest for
eyeball qso with you. We had much going on. Will
try again sometime.

So btu Daryl

N5VLZ:

Charley, life gets in the way of hobbies. FB on
the travels, the digipeater, and the VARA chat.
I'll defer to Bob on the HF packet, although it
has been a rough go for stations trying to get in.
On the weather, it has been crazy...winter could
be interesting.

GE Glenn, how was your week?? >>>

**

N3MEL:

Hello All,

Was busy week last week mostly due to the PKTNET
ran all week. We had a good turn out with 112
check-ins. Also been busy with the TPRFN Network
work with the local ARES groups to get them back
up to speed with packet at the Fall SET. Will
include send a short bulletin check-in to the
region.

Had nice vacation up in NY 2 weeks ago, and will
be heading out in Oct for 2 weeks in Myrtle Beach.
Going to try and get some HF in while down there.
It will just me the YL and the dog this trip, no
grandkids this time.

Daryl, my mother gets migraines, but no where near
like she did when I was younger. But now when I
look back, I start to wonder what or who gave them
to her hi hi. Back to you Daryl >>>

**

N5VLZ:

Glenn, FB on the PKTNET, SET, and vacation. On the
migraines, I think suffering a concussion when I
was 13 has had an effect on that. When I get them,
everything stops. As long as there aren't any major
side effects from the study, I can use the financial
compensation. The APRS Thursday net had over 600
checkins in its 24 hour period.

That's it for round 1, back to the top for final
comments.

Bob, thanks for the use of the BBS...anything else?? >>>

**

NS2B:

Nothing more here - everyone have a good week - 73 >>>

**

N5VLZ:

Thanks for being here...see you next time.

Charley, anything else?? >>>

**

NT5R:

Always fun to type at you all, have an awesome week 73>>>

**

N5VLZ:

Likewise, Charley. I'm not sure if I'll make Mena or
not next year...depends on when HandiHam Radio Camp is.
Thanks for being here.

Glenn, anything else?? >>>

**

N3MEL:

All good here, nice to chat and hope to be here next
week. 73 All >>>

**

N5VLZ:

73, Glenn, thanks for being here.

That will do it for tonight's net. Since I got to eat
before the net, I'll try to get the scribe out before
I start my next net. Stay safe, healthy, weather aware,
and radioactive. 73 and GN DE N5VLZ >>>
