For tomorrow Monday, August 31, 2026, the main weather surveillance and weather alerts activated by civil protection services in the countries of Central America are concentrated in risks due to heavy rains, thunderstorms and an intense drought.
🇵🇦 Panama: National Storm Alert
The National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) maintains a National Prevention Notice in force.

Main risk: Significant storms, heavy rains, wind gusts and electric shocks.
Validity: Until 11:59 p.m. tomorrow Monday, August 31.
Cause: Remaining atmospheric instability of Tropical Wave 39 and low pressure systems.
Recommendations: Monitor river levels due to sudden floods, avoid crossing currents and monitor areas vulnerable to landslides.

🇨🇷 Costa Rica: Seasonal Rain Alerts
The National Commission for Risk Prevention and Emergency Care (CNE) maintains active monitoring statuses.

Yellow Alert: Activated for the Northern Zone and the Northern Caribbean region due to the persistence of rain and soil saturation in previous days.
Green Alert: It governs the rest of the country (Pacific and Central Valley) as a precautionary measure and monitoring of the normal evening downpours of the time.

🇭🇳 Honduras: Extreme Drought Alerts (El Niño)
The Secretariat of Risk Management and National Contingencies (COPECO) maintains extreme measures due to reverse climate factors.

Red Alert: Declared in 75 municipalities of the dry corridor for severe drought conditions associated with the El Niño phenomenon.
Yellow alert: Active in 71 municipalities under climate observation due to water shortages.
Green Alert: In 88 municipalities with preventive agricultural monitoring.

🇲🇽 North / Pacific Region (Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala and Southern Mexico)
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is keeping a low-pressure zone in the Northeast Pacific under surveillance.

Status: Counts on the probability of cyclone development in the coming days. Although it travels in parallel and remotely, its circulation will favor the ingress of moisture to the slopes of the Central American Pacific, so it is recommended that the riparian populations of Guatemala and El Salvador maintain caution in the face of sudden rains.
