The 2026 WIA Remembrance Day Contest has wrapped up after another 24 hours of activity across the
Australian amateur bands.
But if you participated, there is still one important job to complete: submit your log.
Whether you made hundreds of contacts or just dropped in to hand out a few points, your log helps
with cross-checking contacts, calculating accurate results and building a complete picture of
participation in this important Australian contest.
The published rules require logs to be submitted within 14 days of the contest finishing.
How to submit your RD Contest log
RD Contest logs are required in Cabrillo Version 3 format and should be uploaded through VK Log Checker.
Export the Cabrillo file from your contest logging software, go to VK Log Checker, select the
Remembrance Day Contest, upload the file and check the results for any errors that need correcting.
Don't forget to confirm that your log has actually been accepted.
Your callsign will appear in the list of uploaded callsigns.

Next up: the 46th ALARA Contest
Once the RD log is safely submitted, attention turns to the 46th Australian Ladies Amateur Radio
Association (ALARA) Contest, running from 0600 UTC Saturday 29 August until 0559 UTC Sunday 30 August 2026.
That's 4:00 pm Saturday to 3:59 pm Sunday AEST.
The contest is open to licensed amateurs worldwide, with Scout and Girl Guide groups particularly
encouraged to participate.
The operating objective is refreshingly uncomplicated: YL operators can work everyone, while OM
operators work YL stations only.
Phone and CW contacts are permitted on the HF bands excluding 160 metres and the WARC bands,
and EchoLink contacts are also accepted.
A station can be worked again on the same band and mode after more than one hour.
Scoring encourages contacts with YL operators.
ALARA members are worth five points on phone, YL non-members four points, and OM contacts made
by YL operators three points.
CW contacts score double points.
There are certificates across numerous categories, trophies for the highest-scoring Australian YL
and highest-scoring Foundation Licence ALARA member, and the highest-scoring Australian YL
who isn't already an ALARA member receives a one-year ALARA membership.

So the August contesting message is simple: if you worked RD, submit the log; then get ready for
ALARA on 29–30 August.
You don't need a huge station or hundreds of contacts.
Every submitted log and every contact contributes to keeping Australian amateur radio contesting active.
