WIA Awards Local YouTube Amateur Radio Super Star

The Wireless Institute of Australia at its Annual General Meeting in Albury on the second of May 2026 awarded many people
for their service to amateur radio in 2025. One of those awards was the Ron Wilkinson Achievement Award for special
achievement in any facet of amateur radio.
The 2025 award went to Hayden Honeywood VK7HH who runs a very successful YouTube Channel
called Ham Radio DX (https://www.youtube.com/@HamRadioDX) where his goal is to educate, inspire,
promote and get people involved to learn about Ham Radio!
At the time of writing Hayden has over 106,000 subscribers and his channel has 905 videos and over 23 million views.
Hayden couldnâ€Öt make it to Albury but newly minted WIA Director Justin Giles-Clark VK7TW presented the award to Hayden at
his local club – the Radio and Electronics Association of Southern Tasmania (REAST) at their meeting on 13 May 2026.
