With the constant chatter of Meshtastic, then Meshcore and now Reticulum over
the past few years, things seem to be stuck on position reports, telemetry and
text messages. How about graduating a more useful layer of communications like
IRC/WWconvers chat servers and full two-way bbs access? There are plenty of bbs
platforms that can talk KISS to another device as well as TCP/IP on 44net. With
amateur radio access to 433 MHz, we can abandon the crowded non-licensed use of
915 MHz. A bbs that is KISS and/or TCP/IP capable being able to talk and allow
bbs access from a LilyGo T-Pad or similar device, we can break open real use
for hams in the field for emcomm and public event support. Any takers?
