Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and all the associated holidays.
Yet another schedule change to report. During the past two weeks, listeners reported the absence of a signal on 9955 kHz during the Tuesday 1530-1600 UTC transmission. I checked the WRMI schedule and saw that 9955 is now weekends only at 1500-1600 UTC. The schedule below has been changed accordingly. It never had much of an audience due to the inconvenient time and its usual inability to reach Europe.
The last transmission of The Mighty KBC from Nauen, Germany, will be this weekend (see the schedule below). On January 1, The Mighty KBC moves to Sunday 2330-2400 UTC on 5950 kHz from WRMI Florida. This creates a conflict between my MFSK64 minute on KBC, Sunday 2330 UTC, and the Sunday 2330 UTC Shortwave Radiogram on 7730 kHz, also from WRMI. I am in discussions with WRMI to fix this.
This weekend (program 284) is our "Holiday Spectacular." To fit it all in, after the program preview we will switch to MFSK64. First will be an article about the history of Christmas decorations. Then sixteen MFSK64 images of commercial lightpole-mounted holiday decorations. These will all be square in shape, 150 x 150 pixels. You can arrange them in a 4 x 4 square, if you want.
