Lough Erne Amateur Radio Club will be operating from The Inniskillings Military Museum
on Saturday 10th November from 12.00 hrs to 16.00 hrs local time.

We will use the special call GB 1918 EKN to mark the occasion of Enniskillen being the
first town in the United Kingdom and Ireland to hear news of the Armistice.
A radio operator who had been on alert throughout the night picked up the
signal shortly before 07.00 hrs.

there were rockets let off in the barracks and a messenger was sent to the Cathedral to ring the bells.
Enniskillen folk were celebrating throughout the day.
Unfortunately one family were not joining in as they had a son missing in action who was confirmed
as having been killed on that last day of the war later in the week.

Please give us a shout. We should be operating on 40m and 20m mostly.

Alan GI 6 PYP Club Chairman

Hope its of some use to someone
