During August 29, 2026 (UTC), regional seismological networksâ€öincluding the Instituto de Geociencias de la Universidad de Panamá (IGC) and MARN El Salvadorâ€örecorded a series of notable seismic events across Central America.
Converting the local timelines to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the reviewed earthquakes for August 29 are listed below:
## 1. Panama & Border Regions

* 04:56:02 UTC | Magnitude: 4.6
* Location: 2 km north of San Miguel, Pearl Islands Archipelago (Archipiélago de las Perlas), Panama.
   * Depth: 10 km.
   * Details: This was the most widely felt event of the day. Occurring locally at 11:56 PM on Friday night (Panama Time), it was noticeably perceived across the metropolitan and suburban areas including San Miguelito, Arraiján, Costa del Este, and La Chorrera. No structural damage was reported by SINAPROC. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

* Location: Mainland Panama, located approximately 15 km south of Panama City.
   * Depth: 3 km.
   * Details: A very shallow, minor adjustment event recorded by the IGC local network. [2]

## 2. El Salvador & Pacific Coast

* 17:04:00 UTC | Magnitude: 3.9
* Location: North Pacific Ocean, roughly 70 km south of Zacatecoluca (off the coast of La Paz / San Vicente).
   * Depth: 26 km.
   * Details: Reported initially via automated systems and consolidated by the EMSC. Due to its distance offshore, it was largely instrumental with zero reports of public impact or perception. [6, 7]

* Location: Off the coast of San Vicente, approximately 40 km south of the Mouth of the Lempa River (Desembocadura del río Lempa).
   * Depth: 54 km.
   * Details: Official subduction zone seismic movement logged by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN). [6]

(Note: A moderate M4.5 earthquake was also recorded at 10:50:24 UTC in Sipí, Chocó, Colombia; while located right outside the geopolitical boundary of Central America, its proximity was tracked closely by neighboring networks in southern Darién). [8, 9]
