NK5LA:

Hard to believe it's October...the Christmas stuff is
already up...but since I'm still telling Santa to
"define naughty", I doubt he'll be here (hi hi).

I have a lot of items coming via Amazon tomorrow,
including food, and a new UPS battery for the main
computer. Then on Wednesday, the local college is
having their fall campus picnic, with Whole Hog BBQ
and Community Bakery catering at a free midday lunch,
for students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

I got everything working with BlueDV and my DV MegaStick
30, and added the Z3DMR App to my smartphone. I still
have to set it and the QSO_One App up...but it's great
with the portability. I also found a funny ham radio
cap on Amazon, noting "Warning: Might start taking about
amateur radio" (hi hi). Along that line, I'm now doing
nets on a nightly basis...see my QRZ bio for info.

Not much rain here, but they may soon finally have a
hurricane in the Gulf Of America...I'm keeping an eye
on the models for what winter may bring down here. I
just want some cold to kill the insects, and put the
lawn to sleep until spring!!

I recently purchased a watch with a thermometer, barometer,
and altimeter on it. It said "great for hikers and campers".
Well, daily, I hike to the little hams room, and camp out
there (hi hi).

GE Wayne, how was your week?? >>>

**

KC2NJV:

GE folks, Thanks Daryl....

Week was like any other week... crappy weather, some small
amounts of flooding (nothing to get me worried). I have a 6
point gage 0-5. I live on the water. Level 0 is the water is
below the dock, Level 1 is lapping or just on the dock.
Level 5 is at my door/in the house. Last week was Level 2,
probably a little worse than a Full moon (which it was)....

Other than that, we finally figured out what was wrong with
our Repeater/Allstar/DMR links.... and got it working...
Once more link to a Analog set of repeaters and we've
completed our link until we move both a analog and dmr
repeater from Queens to the Bronx...

Otherwise, enjoy your weeks.... 73, to all, Wayne KC2NJV

**

NK5LA:

Wayne, first thanks for being here. Keep that water level
low!! Flooding is not a problem here, but lightning can be.
FB on getting the links working again. You can secure when
you need to.

GE Bob, how was your week?? >>>

**

NS2B:

GE All!

A good week. Went to a ukulele festival Saturday - it was a
blast. Then to an Apple fest yesterday - had some good apple
fritters!!

Got Hamword in 3 guesses this morning.

Been chasing SSTV from the ISS since Friday. Captured a few
images thus far. I need passes between 30 and 75 degrees and
I need to be setting in front of the radio to run the doppler
shift as I don't have any kind of rig control on the radio I'm
using. But if it's a perfect pass and they send right in the
middle of their pass I can capture unattended too - I've got a
couple that way. They're running until Friday allegedly - give
it a try if you get a chance!

The next project; just acquired a Quensheng UV-K1 HT - VHF/UHF,
but more importantly NR7Y has created firmware for it that puts
an iambic keyer and cw decoder in it. For less than $40 I had
to try it!!

That's it for me, BTU Daryl >>>

**

NK5LA:

Bob, FB on the ukulele festival, the Apple Festival (especially
the fritters), Hamword, SSTV (I did get your email on that), and
on that HT...not bad at all.

GE Carl, how was your week?? >>>

**

KX4AC:

GE All.

I have also been capturing a few SSTV images from the ISS. Not
really as clean as Bob's best, but passable anyway. I mounted
the eggbeater antenna on top of an HT and take the stack out
into the back yard. If they are going throughout the week I
will see what other passes I might be able to get.

I have not started HAMWORD yet this week. I will work on that
during dialysis tomorrow morning.

I think I mentioned that I got my Brandmeister issues resolved,
so the openspot is pretty much set up, but really have not used
it much.

Still doing NTS. That is a nightly thing now.

I guess that's about it for tonight.

Oh ... forgot ... I am going to Disneyland this coming weekend,
so I will likely not be on the net next Monday, but will return
the following week. Ok, that's it for tonight. Back to net >>>

**

NK5LA:

Carl, first...FB on the SSTV images from the ISS...I've never had
the setup to do that. Second, I am not good with word games,
although I do a Bible Verse Word deal on my Android phone. Bummer
on the dialysis. FB on the Brandmeister issues, NTS, and especially
for your Disneyland trip. Drop me or Bob an email reminder, and we
will give you an early checkin.

GE Glenn, how was your week?? >>>

**

N3MEL:

Hello everyone, its been a while since I have done both ISS or SSTV
WORK but might be fun to give it a try again. I had some good success
using my KW TS-2000 for it.

I just published some code on Github that is like UZ7HOâ€Ös Easyterm
except it for use with VARA both HF and FM, it also uses Hamlib for
cat and ptt. Other then getting ready for a week in the camper later
next week just busy with TPRFN.

That's it for now btu Daryl>>>

**

NK5LA:

Glenn, hope you can get back to work the ISS via SSTV soon. FB on the
code for VARA with HF and FM. Hope you get good weather with camping,
and I know about "busy" with the hobby (hi hi).

That's it for round 1...back to the top for final comments.

Bob (NY), thanks for the use of the BBS...anything else?? >>>

**

NS2B:

Glenn, I'll have to check out your terminal!

Nothing more Daryl, everyone have a good week - 73 >>>

take care, Bob...have a good week.

Carl, anything else?? >>>

**

KX4AC:

Nothing more from AZ. 73s to all. >>>

**

NK5LA:

73 Carl, enjoy your trip to the Mickey Mouse operation in Anaheim
(hi hi).

Glenn, you get to wrap it up tonight...anything else?? >>>

**

N3MEL:

Carl have nice trip, Bob I will email the link. There is two versions
posted, they both work the same but one has Hamlib in it the other
does not.

73 all CUL Daryl take care >>>

**

NK5LA:

Take care, Glenn...catch you next week.

That'll do it for tonight's net. I'll post the log sometime Tuesday,
as I have another net to check-in to, and another net to run.

73 and GN DE NK5LA >>>
